Zarkul Canal




The Zarkul Canal is an old canal in Jammu and Kashmir, built during Zain-ul-Abdin Badshah’s reign. The canal originates from the Nullah Sind, which is the largest tributory of the Jhelum River. The canal is mainly used for irrigation purposes and irrigates about 20000 acres of land. The main area of irrigation, where the canal serves water includes upper land karewa on the Manasbal Lake, Manasbal, Asham and Ganderbal.
