Zagor is a dance drama performed in the villages of Dando and Gudem in western
Siolim. It begins with Sunvari, a procession accompanied with crashing beats. It passes through the streets and ends in Zagorio, a stage-cum-temple. The performers start dancing in front of the shrine to express their enthusiasm. Zagor begins with
ovi songs, a cultural song sung by Dadi (Vithal Shirodkar) who take the role of the narrator.
Several acts are showed on the day and the first act begins with an attractive dance of the Raja (king) who sings a semi-religious song, composed with words that are not in common use. Sahid (a servant) dances behind the king. Dances of Malis follow it. The performance ends when Bhonvor, the most important character of Zagor colorfully dressed, enters on the stage.
Zagor is followed by tiatr.
