South 24 Parganas District, the Yogiraj Shyamacharan Sanatan Mission was started in 1991 by Dr Ashoke Kumar Chatterjee, a world renowned
Kriya yoga teacher. It stands for creating awareness among people about the knowledge of the scientific sastra-approved Kriya yoga revived by Yogiraj. The mission organizes free medical camps, free food camps and distribution of clothes to the needy. Serves are offered with out any distinction of caste, creed and color. The Yogiraj Shyamacharan Sanatan Mission houses the majestic stately temple of Yogiraj Shama Churn Lahiree, the fountain-head of Kriya yoga.
