Established in 1989, Yangoupokpi-Lokchao Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in
Chandel District on the Indo-Myanmar border. It covers an area of 185 sq km. This sanctuary is home to around 86 species of fish, 6 species of amphibians, 29 species of reptiles, 74 species of birds and 42 species of mammalians.
