Established in 1997 by the Janatha Education Society, Vivekananda Institute of Technology (VIT) is situated at Gudimavu, about 25 km from
Bangalore. It is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to
Visveswaraiah Technological University.
The institute offers undergraduate courses in electronics and communication engineering, computer science and engineering, telecommunication engineering, information science, and chemical engineering. All the departments have good infrastructural facilities. Laboratories are well equipped with modern instruments. A library is attached. Separate hostels are available for boys and girls.
