Situated on four acre of land, Vivekanand Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management is situated on
National Highway 8B in the
Rajkot District of
Gujarat. It is around 20 km from
Rajkot, the former capital of the princely state of
Saurashtra. Affiliated to Saurashtra University, it is approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
Besides full time course, Bachelor's in Hotel and Tourism Management, the college offers a wide range of short-term courses including one year certificate course in hotel management, one year certificate course in accommodation operations and front office management, one year certificate course in F and B production, and one year certificate course in F and B service and operation. Other courses include Business English certificate (BEC) Level I, II and III, and Diploma in Airline and Travel Management (DAT).
The main objective of the institute is to promote Indian culture and values through holistic approach to management imbibing the teachings of the ancient heritage along with the technical know-how, thereby supplying the dynamic and disciplined manpower to the service industry.
The college has well-equipped infrastructure with training kitchen, restaurants, computer center, library and seminar hall/auditorium. In addition to curriculum, students are given compulsory industrial training every year for a period of sixteen weeks. Overall personality is developed through vocational training, seminars, workshops and guest faculty lectures. Campus interviews are conducted. There is separate hostel facility for boys and girls.
