Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), formerly known as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering, is located in
Nagpur. Established in 1960, this Deemed University is a joint venture of Government of India and Government of
Maharashtra.
The institute offers eight undergraduate programs in engineering, one undergraduate program in architecture in addition to six postgraduate programs in engineering, and research programs in various engineering departments. It also undertakes research and development activities and offers testing, consultancy and other extension services. Placements for the students are ensured through the Department of Training and Placement.
