Vishwakarma Puja




Vishwakarma Puja is observed in the month of September mainly in Orissa. It is the festival of the God of architecture and engineering, Vishwakarma, worshipped especially by the engineering community across the industrial towns of the state.

On the auspicious day, shop are decorated and rituals are followed by distribution of ‘prasad’ and the workmen and the owners lunch together. It is a day of flying kites and the entire skyline gets filled up with kites of different colors and size. Vishwakarma Puja unofficially marks the festive season that extends up to Diwali.

During the puja, workers in many places make resolutions to increase productivity. It acts as an inspiration to many to create new products and perform better.
