Vishista Advaita Philosophy

Vishista Advaita is a major branch of Vedanta. The other branches are Advaita and Dvaita . Vishista Advaita school of thought was founded by Ramanujam (1017-1137), and he has written many authoritative texts on it. Vishista Advaita is also called Vaishnava Philosophy. Vishista Advaita, meaning 'qualified non-dualism,’ claims that the Supreme God exists in parts, within every individual living soul, but He is independent, and controls the souls and the Universe. The Azhwars, Shri Nathamuni, Shri Yamunamuni, Swami Vedanta Desika, Shri Pillailokacharya, and Shri Manavala Mamunigal are a few saints who contributed to Vishista Advaita.
