Vishanti (blowing), a form of mock fighting, was prevalent among
Malayan communities, who are famous as
Theyyam dancers. Blowing was done with the stems of plantain leaves. Wooden shields provided by the members of other castes were also used in the performance. Vishanti is not in practice now.
