Vimalanatha Jain Temple




Located at Bellur in Mandya District, Vimalanatha Jain Temple was built in 1650 by Hulikallu Sakkare Shetty under the guidance of Lakshmisena Bhattarakha Maharaj. It enshrines the black color idol of Bhagvan Vimalanatha in the kayotsarga posture.

Black colored idols of all the 24 Tirthankars , Bhagwan Mahavir, Dharanendra yaksha and Padmavathi Yakshi. The walls of the temples are decorated with ancient inscriptions that depict the temple history.

A grand puja Mahotsav to Bhagwan Adinath is conducted annually on Jinaratri.

Bellur is about 10 km from Maddur.
