Established in the second millennium of the Vikram era, Vikram Kirti Mandir was built in honor of Vikramaditya - the much honored King of
Ujjain. It houses the
Scindia Oriental Research Institute, an archaeological museum, art gallery and an auditorium. The Oriental Institute has 18,000 manuscripts and a reference library of important Oriental publications.
