Vijayanagaram Ghat is one among the numerous
ghats in
Varanasi. This ghat, located on the banks of the holy
Ganges River, is named after the erstwhile Vijayanagar princely state of South India. The ruler of this princely state provided the funds for the construction of this ghat in 1890.
Situated near Vijayanagaram Ghat are the temples dedicated to Nilakantha (Lord Shiva) and Nishpapeshvara. The ghat is used occasionally the pilgrims for taking dip in the holy waters of the Ganges.
