Victoria Jubilee Museum, the museum of the Archaeological Department, is situated on Bundar Road in
Vijayawada. It exhibits sculptures, paintings, pre-historic stone tools, Microliths and Neolithic implements, in addition to coins, arms, metal works and miniature paintings from the
Qutub Shahis and
Nizam periods. A huge granite statue of
Buddha and also a standing white limestone figure of Buddha from
Alluru are also on display.
The museum is open between 11:00-13:00 hrs and 14:00-18:00 hrs in summers and 10:00-13:00 hrs and 14:00- 17:00 hrs in winters. It is closed on Fridays and public holidays. Admission is free.
