Venad

Venad is a sand barrier island on Pulicat Lake in the extreme southern part of Nellore District in Andhra Pradesh. It along with Irkam Island separates the Pulicat Lake into eastern and western sectors. Venad is 62 km north of Chennai and is 91 km south of Nellore. Pulicat Sanctuary, in the neighborhood, is perfect for a short excursion. Sullurupeta Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
