Vellattam Kali




Vellattam Kali, the first day festival of Sarkara Kaliyoot, is a primitive Keralite dance form. This dance form is performed as a part of the ritual in Sarkara Devi Temple.

In Vellattam Kali, Sarkara Devi is dressed as a Harijan woman and Harijan farmers fanning her with white dhotis, are shown making an effort to relieve her tiredness. The performers wear neat clothes and a band around the head. This dance is accompanied by traditional musical instruments.
