Velamur is a village situated on the right side of the road between Melmaravattur and Vandavasi, adjacent to Ramavaram village.
It has religious and historical importance. A small place, Velamur has a beautiful temple with Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal as the presiding deity. Panguni Uttram is an important festival celebrated here.
