Established in 1993, Vel's College of Arts and Science aims at providing excellent educational facilities to aspiring students. It strives to inculcate in its students, self-reliance, integrity of character, commitment to the society, and true sense of human values.
The college offers UG and PG courses in a variety of disciplines. UG courses include B.Sc. Computer Science, B.C.A. (Bachelor of Computer Applications), B.Sc. Hotel and Catering Management, B.Sc. Nautical Science (Semester), B.Sc. Microbiology, B.Sc. Biochemistry, B.Com., and B.B.A. P.G. Courses offered are M.C.A (Master of Computer Applications) (Semester), M.B.A Master of Business Administration (Semester), M.Sc. Computer Science (Semester), M.Sc. Bio-Technology (Non-Semester), M.Sc. Applied Microbiology (Non-Semester), M.Sc. Information Technology (Semester), M.Sc. Bio-Informatics (Non-Semester), M.Sc. Hotel and Catering Management (Non-Semester), M.Sc. Bio-Chemistry, and M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry and Management.
Other facilities in the campus include spacious lecture halls, A/C computer training center, modern conference hall, well-equipped library, audio-visual communication aids, fully equipped auditorium, state-of-the-art laboratories and separate hostels for men and women. The college also has a full fledged placement unit.
