Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple




Located close to Gandi village in Cuddapah District, Andhra Pradesh, Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple is situated on the right side of the Papagni River. The chief deity is Lord Hanuman who is worshipped as Sri Veeranjaneya Swamy. According to tradition, it is the place where Lord Ram, on the request of Lord Vayu, stayed after he won the legendary war with Ravana. Before he left the place, Lord Ram drew the image of Hanuman on a stone. Veda Vyasa consecrated this image and devotees built a temple for this stone image. It is believed that one can solve mental ailments by offering prayers in this temple. Sri Uma Maheswara Temple, Gavi Malleswara Swamy Temple, Bhoomanada Ashram and Pavurala Gutta are the famous temples located nearby. The nearest airport is at Renigunta.
