Situated at Tiruvedikkudi near Thanjavur is one of the 7 Saptastanams, the Vedapureeswarar Temple. Surrounded by about 2 acres, the temple has a single prakaram. There is a separate worship place for Goddess Mangayarkarasi. The main feature of the temple is that sun’s rays illuminate the sanctum for 3 days from the 13th day of the month of Panguni (mid March - mid April). The annual Brahmotsavam occurring in the month of Chittirai (mid April - mid May) is celebrated in a grand manner.
