Vasishta Ashram




Vasishta Ashram is a hermitage believed to be built by the legendary sage Vasishta and is situated 16 km east of Guwahati.

It is located in a scenic background, with three streams named ‘sandhya,’ ‘lalita’ and ‘kanta’ flowing nearby. It is believed that a bath in these streams increases the life span of a person.

A temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is located in the premises of this hermitage. It was built in the 18th century by King Rajesvar Singh belonging to the Ahom dynasty.

No bus services are available. This place can be reached by taxis or private vehicles.
