Vasanthapura is a small hillock in
Bangalore District of
Karnataka. It is famous for the Vasantha Vallabharayaswamy Temple, an ancient and delightful temple, believed to be built by Cholas.
According to legend, sage Mandavya is associated with this temple. Once the sage left his ashram situated on the banks of the Ganges. His disciples became worried at the disappearance of their guru. After a frantic search over the dales and hills, they found the saint meditating in a cave in Vasanthapura.
Vasanthapura is about 12 km from Bangalore.
