Varkana is an ancient town located about 20 km from
Falna in
Pali District, considered by the Jains. During ancient times, Varkana was a prosperous place and was popularly known as Varakanakapur.
Major point of attraction at Varkana is a Jain temple known as Shri Varkana Tirth. This temple houses the idol of Shri Parshwanath Bhagwan. Apart from this, there are many ancient Jain temples nearby. From an archeological point of view, Varkana has great importance. Thousands of devotees reach here every year on the 10th day of the dark half of Margashirsha to attend a religious fair.
