Van Vihar National Park is located in
Bhopal District,
Madhya Pradesh. This safari park lies on a hill near the
Upper Lake, with an area of about 4 sq km.
Wildlife species dominating the area include tiger, leopard,
sambar deer, chital, blue bull, four-horned antelope, chinkara, black buck, wild boar, alligator, porcupine, wolf bear and monkey. Different species of birds are also seen here.
The park is open from 07:00 to 11.00 hrs and 15:00 to 17:00 hrs and closed on Tuesdays. July to September is ideal to visit the park.
Bhopal Airport and Bhopal Junction Railway Station are the nearest accessible points.
