Valvil Raman Temple




Valvil Raman Temple is situated at Tirupullampudangudi in Thanjavur District, about 5 km from Swamimalai. The one-acre temple campus comprises beautiful tanks, gopurams and mandapams. A 60 ft high Rajagopuram adorns the temple. The temple deity is in lying pose (Bhujangasayanam) facing the east. There is a separate shrine for Goddess Pottramaraiyan. Legend has it that Lord Ram offered moksham to Jatayu at this place. The main festival is the annual Brahmotsavam celebrated in the month of Pankuni (March-April).
