Valakam is a sort of play in which four players appear on the stage and think of a topic, usually drawn from the typical incidents of everyday life. They portray the subject by dramatic gestures and onstage improvisation, criticizing the social evils around in a satirized way. Usually important individuals are picked up for caricature without any motive, but for the sake of amusement and pleasure.
