Vakkund




Vakkund is a picturesque village situated at Bailhongal taluk in Belgaum District of Karnataka. This unpolluted village, blessed with numerous trees, extensive green lands and hillocks, is really a treasure trove of breathtaking scenery and fascinating reminders of a cultural heritage which attracts tourists from distant places. Once it was a major pilgrim center for Jains and now, an old Jain Basadi built atop a hill can be seen here. Nearby attractions include Kamala Narayan Temple at Devagaon, which is quite worth visiting.

The nearest railway station and airport are at Belgaum and Goa respectively.
