Vadieeswaran Temple




The temple sanctum houses Lord Subramanya as Muthukumarar. According to myth, Lord Muruga got his powerful 'vel' from here. There are many mini shrines inside the main campus housing the august deities like Vinayaka, Muthukumarar, Balambal called Thaiyalnayaki. The temple has bronze statues of Angaraka, Nataraja, Jatayu, Somaskandhar, Singaravelar, Bikshadanar. Inside the prakaram there are two tanks called Siddhamritha Teerth and Jatayukundam. It is believed that a tree inside the temple campus has been existing since Kritayug. This tree is known by different names such as Kadamba in the Kritayuga, Bilva during the Tretayuga, Vakula in the Dwaparayuga and Neem in the Kaliyuga.
