Vadapalani Andavar Temple




Vadapalani Andavar Temple is a highly revered shrine situated at Vadapalani, in Chennai. The temple enshrines Lord Muruga as the presiding deity. The exquisite 4 ft sculpture of the presiding deity is cynosure of all eyes.

Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesh are also worshipped here. Lord Hanuman’s image can be seen sculpted on a pillar. Devotees apply butter to Lord Anjaneya and pray for the fulfillment of their wishes.

Vadapalani Andavar Temple is renowned for bringing people together; it conducts about 7,000 weddings annually.

Vadapalani Vinayagar Temple, situated nearby, is worth visiting.
