Situated at the top of the mountainous area of Jubbar Hills, Urdas is a village in
Kargil District. It is at an altitude of 14,035 ft above sea level and is 186 km from
Srinagar, the capital of
Jammu and Kashmir. Urdas Langpa, a minor stream separating Gurgudu from the Garkhun nullah is the prime attraction.
Sanacha in the west, Kha Barora in the north, Zuti in the east and Chorten in the south are the neighboring towns.
Urdas can be accessed from Grugurdo and Barora by road. Jammu Tawi Railway Station, which is on the Jammu – Pathankot line, serves this place.
