Uralikal, one of the scenic tea estates under the Tata Tea Company, is situated at an elevation of 3746 ft above the sea level, overlooking the Sholayar Reservoir, at Valparai. This 430 hectares tea area was established in the year of 1915. It includes three divisions, namely lower division, upper division and No 2 division. The estate factory produces good quality CTC tea.
The estate is a retreat for elephants, bison, wild dogs, panthers, sambhars and barking deer. With a variety of flora and fauna, Uralikal tea estate acts as a pathway for wild animals to move around.
