Uppoor

Uppoor is a coastal village situated on the shores of Palk Bay, 32 km north-east of Ramanathapuram, in Ramanathapuram District. Vattanam is about 18 km north.

Gulf of Mannar Marine Biosphere Reserve and Chitrangudi Bird Sanctuary are two major tourist spots in Ramanathapuram District.

Nearest airport is at Madurai. Paramakudi Railway Station and Ramanathapuram Railway Station serve Uppoor.
