University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), is a Statutory University, located in the Pondha Valley of
Dehradun.
This is the first university in the country, dedicated exclusively for petroleum and energy studies. It promotes professional education and training in the field of energy management, petroleum, electric power and non-conventional energy sources. The university also supports research, consultancy and development activities in the technical and managerial aspects of the petroleum industry.
