United East Bengal Football Team Private Limited, formerly East Bengal Club, started its function in 1920 at
Kolkata, the capital of
West Bengal. Affiliated to Indian Football Association, it works for the nourishment of football in India.
Many Indian footballers who are members of this club represented the country in Olympics and in other international football tournaments. The club has won several titles including the Independence Day Cup, Coca Cola Cup, Wai Wai Cup, Stafford Cup, Hercules Cup, McDowell's Cup, Durand Cup, IFA Shield, Federation Cup and LG ASEAN Club Cup.
It is governed by a council of 30 members. The club also runs a fully functional gymnasium for the players. Reebok and United Breweries Limited are the official sponsors.
