Unchahar Thermal Power Plant




Unchahar Thermal Power Plant, owned and operated by the National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), is located in Rae Bareli District of Uttar Pradesh. The plant started power generation in 1988 and it produces about 1050 MW of power from its 4 units of 210 MW each. The coal is taken from the Jharia/North Karanpura Coal Fields.

Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Chandigarh and Delhi are the major beneficiaries.
