Umta

Umta is a village in Mehsana District of Gujarat. It is bounded by Meherwara (13 km) in the west, Kheralu (12 km) in the north and Visnagar (9 km) in the south. Excavations made in this village have unearthed remains of Hindu-Jain temples, dating back to the 11th and 13th centuries.

Prime attraction close to Umta is the ancient town of Vadnagar. Other tourist destinations accessible from here are Valam Shri Krishna Temple and Hatkeswar Mahadev Temple.
