Umrong Reservoir is located in
North Cachar Hills District of
Assam. The total capacity of the reservoir is 78.5 million cubic meters of water and the depth ranges from 2.58 to 8.0 m.
Khandong along with Umrong are two reservoirs created under the Kopili Hydro Electric Project. This project utilizes water from Umrong reservoir through a 5473 m long tunnel to generate 100 MW of power.
