Ugra Narasimha Temple

Ugra Narasimha Temple in Maddur of the Hoysala Dynasty is a fine reflection of architectural finesse. It enshrines the 7 ft high shining black idol of Lord Narasimha with eight hands and three eyes, killing Hiranyakashipu and wearing the viscera as garland. The temple also houses a number of other shrines. The walls around the complex are ornately decorated with beautiful frescoes.
