Ucassaim




Positioned in the midst of the villages such as Nachinola, Moira, Bastora, and Vaddem-Socorro, Ucassaim is a charming place gifted with natural beauty. It is located near Mapusa. The village has a church of St Elizabeth, built around 1619. A grandiose statue of Christ the King is found in front of the church. The feasts of the patron St Sebastian, Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Health are celebrated with great pomp in the month of February. A prime attraction of the village is a cave, Vagbiu up on the hill. A rivulet that emerges from the cave is also worth seeing. It is an ideal spot to visit, with picturesque views from the top of the hill.
