Tumbaknari (Matki) is a special kind of Kashmiri drum used along with folk music in
Jammu and Kashmir. Similar to Tombak (Persian goblet drum), this percussion instrument is made of clay and the open part is covered with dried skin of sheep and has the shape similar to a jar. It is a traditional pot with similarities to Ghatam. Kashmiri folk songs called Wachuns accompany the beating of Tumbaknari, which are common in marriages.
