Tuljapur is located about 22 km from
Osmanabad and 45 km north-east of
Solapur. It comes under the Marathwada region and lies 250 m above sea level on the hills called Balaghat.
This place is situated at the end of the plateau where the state highway from Aurangabad descends to Solapur. This village is known for the holy temple of Tulja Bhavani, dedicated to Goddess Durga. Earlier this place was called Chinchpur as it was full of tamarind trees, but, later on changed to Tuljapur after the name of Tulja Bhavani. The place possesses religious significance during Navratri. Pandharpur and Akalkot are the other nearby places.
The nearest airports are at Pune, (274 km) and Aurangabad (269 km). Solapur Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead. Buses are available from Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Hyderabad and Gulbarga. Tuljapur lies on the National Highway 109.
