Tsokum festival is celebrated by the Khiamniungan tribe of
Tuensang District in
Nagaland, during the month of October. It is associated with harvesting and during the festival animals are sacrificed to appease the tribal God. The next day, the male members of the tribe repair the roads and bridges between the villages and to their Khetis. The festival is an occasion when permission is granted for the right to harvest and to test new crops. Each warrior of the village displays his hunted animals during the festival.
