Treta-Ke-Thakur

Treta-Ke-Thakur is a highly revered shrine situated at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. The temple stands at the place where Lord Ram is said to have performed the Ashvamedha Yagya.

It is believed that the Raja of Kullu built a new temple here about 300 years ago. It was improved by Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore, in AD 1784. The adjoining ghats were built at that time.

The original deities in black sandstone were regained from Saryu and placed in the new temple, famous as Kaleram-ka-Mandir.
