Tomb of Ali Barid is situated just two kilometers from
Bidar, in the far north-eastern corner of
Karnataka. It is the most impressive of the Baridi royal tombs. The tomb has a 25 m high dome with an extravagant work on the base and parapet. The chamber is open to all directions and is set within a four-square garden. The tiled panels inside the chamber include inscriptions from the Koran. Both the gateway to the garden and the nearby mosque boast fine architectural carvings.
