Tiruvahindrapuram

The Temple Town



Tiruvahindrapuram (now called tiru-vendi-puram), is situated to the west of Cuddalore. It is well known for the Tiruvahindrapuram Temple, located near the Tiruppappuliyur railway station. It is an example of Pallava architecture.

The best time to visit the town and the temple is during the Brahmotsavam in the month of Chittirai (mid April - mid May), Desikar festival in Purattasi (mid September - mid October) and Vaikuntha Ekadasi festival in Margazhi / Thai months (mid December - mid January / mid January - mid February).

Regular bus and train services are available from Chennai City. Accommodation facilities for tourists are available at Cuddalore and Chidambaram.
