Tiptur is located in
Tumkur District of
Karnataka and is about 60 km west of
Tumkur town.
Located about 850 m above sea level, the town is famous for its coconut cultivation and marketing. Also called as Kalpataru Nadu, Tiptur is renowned for copra products. BAIF (Bharatiya Agro Industries Foundation) Institute for Rural Development is located here.
