Formerly known as Bhagalpur University, the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University was established in 1960 at
Bhagalpur,
Bihar.
A State University, it is set in a 264-acre campus, with 36 departments, 24 affiliated colleges and 29 constituent colleges. The university has faculties of medical sciences, engineering, commerce, law, education, science, social sciences and humanities. Bihar’s Regional Study Centre, Agro-Economic Research Centre, Sarat Chandra Research Centre and Maharshi Mehi Sant Sahitya Sodh-Peeth are also under this university. Postgraduate, certificate, diploma, Postgraduate diploma and PhD course are offered.
The university has a library, press, health unit and hostel. It also conducts yoga classes and self financed paramedical courses. Its medical unit offers medical facilities to students and staff of university. The center also has a pathology lab and an X-ray clinic.
