Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth is situated at Gultekadi in
Pune. Established in 1921, this university is named after Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
A Deemed University, it has a number of departments such as Shri Balmukund Lohiya Centre of Sanskrit and Asian Studies, Nehru Institute of Social Sciences and Late VD P G Nanal Ayurveda Department. These departments offer graduate, postgraduate and diploma courses in the faculties of arts and fine arts, moral and social sciences and ayurveda.
Mukta Vidya Kendra, the open education center of the university, offers programs in different academic fields.
