Established in 1947, Thrissur Archaeological Museum displays murals from all over
Kerala, along with a rare treasure of Veerakallu, temple models, olagrandhangal (manuscripts on dry palm leaves), megaliths, beads and coins. Entry to the museum is free. It is open from 10:00 to 17:00 hrs on all days, except Mondays and important holidays.
Housed originally in the Thrissur Town Hall building, this museum has now been shifted to the Kollengode Palace, an architectural delight located about 19 km from Palakkad.
