The Thiru Sirupuliyur temple is situated in
Thanjavur District,
Tamil Nadu. The temple is located about 2 miles from Kollumankudi railway station.
The deity of this temple is Lord Arulmaakadal (Vishnu), also known by the names Arulmaakadalamudhu and Salasayana Perumal. The idol of the deity is depicted in a reclining position. The inner prakaram has murals depicting the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu. The annual Brahmotsavam, celebrated here amidst much pomp and splendor, in the Tamil month of Vaikasi (May-June) draws a large number of people. Other festivals celebrated are the Manavaala Maamuni festival, in the Tamil month of Aippasi, and the Anantaazhwar festival, on the Ekadesi day in the bright half of the Tamil month of Maasi.
